Brenda, I just made my first one. It took a while to upload the photos. Once you get the hang of adding, rearranging, it doesn't take long to put the album together and order it. Getting the sizing right before uploading the photos may take a while. Also I didn't think about the cover so I had make one of those. I just ordered my first one (8x8) over the weekend so I don't know how long it will take to get it. Right now they are having free shipping until the 11th so be sure to use that coupon code.

yes once you have all your layouts ready to go it tkes a very short period of time to upload them to artscow as for time after you order them normally around 2-3 weeks

I just finished one - a baby book for my youngest son. I set up templates and kept things very simple but it still took quite a few hours to find all the photos and to work out how to make it 20 pages.

Baby Book Pages 1-4

Baby Book Pages 5-8

Baby Book Pages 9-12

Baby Book Pages 13-16

Baby Album - Pages 17-...

I also put my other layouts in a couple of books. I wrote an action to resize them a little and hopefully I won't lose anything off the edge. We shall see. That only took about an hour once I got the action sorted out.

LOL! Shazzt, I need to write one, too. (Not that I've ever done one by myself) I want to make a 100 page album, but I need to get them resized a bit.

I am doing an 80 page book for my niece ..... not sure if I will use artscow or blurb .... think the price will win me over LOL. I would imagine once you have the pages done and uploaded to the site it wouldn't take too long to create the book.

Dragging and dropping the pages is the easy part. It is all the stuff before then that takes the time

Sue, putting the album together on Artscow is the easy part like Shazzt said. I should have resized my pages a bit to keep the edges from getting cut off. I have never been careful about keeping 1/4 inch around the edge of the layout clear of text or elements because I thought I would always print at home. But I had over 200 pages to print so I decided to make them into books. The price at Artscow won me over and all the good things I have heard about them.

I had a book printed by viovio earlier this year...I also forget to keep important things away from the edges of the page and a very kind DSP member wrote a script for me (I use PSE 5 and can't write my own) that adds 1/4" inch border to each page making it 12.25" x 12.25". The border was entirely cropped off leaving my page intact. The script also saved my page as a .jpg.

Thanks for this very kind member, I was able to add a border and save 113 pages in no time! If you page is square and you are having it printed in a square format, you shouldn't have to resize all of your pages. You can upload a 12x12 file and have it printed as 8x8 without making the change yourself.

My book was printed 10x10 which I found to be a very convenient size...big enough to see all my journaling, but small enough to fit on the bookshelf.

I hate having things getting cut off - but I love designing to the edge. Sigh - automatically adding the extra helps a lot though
