Want to teach Digital Scrapbooking locally?

DSP is always getting requests for instructors. We have now set up a place for you to submit your resume so that when stores ask for an instructor in their area, we can pass on your resume to them. If you are interested, please get more info here

Hmmm, well, I would be very willing to share my love of digital scrapping with anyone - but I am not a teacher by any means! Should I still submit a 'resume'?

I'm so excited for this to start! I'm teaching a 3-day seminar in Idaho this summer, and while I'm excited I'm really nervous about preparing that much material. A program like this to support one another will be invaluable!

How do we find out if there are any classes being held near us? I'd be interested in taking one!

if there are classes held near you, you will probably get an email from DSP with the info.

Classes are usually announced in the Local Laptop Crops, Classes, Conventions, and Other thread:

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...play.php?f=465

If you don't see classes offered in your area, then ask your local scrapbook store. If they know people are interested in digital scrapbooking classes, then they might offer a class.

If you're interested and meet the qualifications described in the link, then submit your resume:

The possibility of teaching digital scrapbooking classes really depends on the stores in your local area. They might be interested in offering digital scrapbooking classes, but do not know any instructors. I recommend talking to your local scrapbook store to see if they're interested. If the store sees a business need to offer classes, then you might be able to fill that need!

exactly: I just went to my local stores personally to find out if they wanted a digi instructor. Many of them are just hesitant since they don't understand how they can earn money from digi w/o taking away from their paper business, or they know they want to get into it but not sure how. If I had more time (and no tiny kids) I would push it more with those who need a push. I have much better luck with stores that contact me directly or through DSP, and I end up teaching in other venues like craft shows, genealogy conventions, schools, clubs etc. However, it's still worth going in every so often to offer and present the options. Most of them really want to offer something, they just need help knowing what to offer! Bring your albums to showcase your work and some ideas of products they can carry, like a catalog.

DSP can help with curriculum and referrals, so you're two steps ahead there!

Wow, what an excellent opportunity....with Hybrid pages being all the rage right now, I would think there'd be no better time to jump on the bandwagon. Wish I new Photoshop better...I'm mainly a PSP junkie!

Thanks Margie for that - I think that's the angle Carolyn & I were coming from.
