Anyone interested in a crop in UT? - July 12

Hi everyone, JD and I are trying to arrange a crop in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 12 and we need to know how much interest there is, so we can see about arrangements. We will let you know more about the details, as we know more.

You can count on me, I will be there. I am in St. George as most of you know but this will give me an extra excuse to come up north. Anything I can do to help let me know. thanks for planing this Jae Dee and Chris.

Here is something we need to consider. I talked to the local library, they have a meeting room that we can use and it would be free, as long as we clean up after ourselves. Since none of us will be leaving our laptops there, I think this is easy. The other good point is they have a wireless connection. You need to have a library card, but they said they have a visitor's card available for visitor's, also free. Down side, we could only get the room from 10:15 to 5:45 on Saturday, since the library closes early, and there is absolutely no food or drink allowed in the library, except bottled waters. There are several restaurants/food places nearby, many within walking distance. So my question to you, would you rather use a library meeting room where it is free and wireless, or would you rather split the cost for a conference room or something, where we could have longer hours and food/drink. Not sure if wireless would be available.

That sounds super, Chris! I vote for the library. We'll be too busy to be eating while we have our crop, and after we can all go out and eat together and keep right on yakking! With wireless there we can even do "hello" with each other if we want. AND IT'S FREEEE!!! Sound good to anyone else?

Me too, JaeDee! I hope we have everyone from UT there, and lots from other places, too! This is close to Adobe and right before, isn't it?

Have you decided if you're going to teach us how (and why we should) to use masks, Chris? You use them for so many things that they must be worth learning about. I'll bet the library has the equipment to project your puter screen up on a screen that we can all see. Oh, just realized that everyone doesn't use the same program. Oh, well. I'm sure we'll be doing something fun and interesting, and learning a lot, in addition to getting acquainted IRL! Can't wait!!

The principle behind a mask is the same in any program, so I would be happy to show you all how to use them.

I'm in! I would love to meet everyone! The library is a great idea the rooms are nice and you can have food and drink in them but you have to pay a deposit. I think it was like $25.00 or something like that from what I remember from another group

oh I called them and they said no food, hmmm maybe I need to ask again. They did say about the $25 deposit that is 100% refundable as long as we clean up after ourselves.

I'm so in! I'm a little nervous though. I'm more of a lurker on this site so I'm not going to know ANYONE! Is that okay? I'd love to learn about masks too if that's okay. If you need any help or if people want to carpool I'll be happy to drive. I know that might be scary because no one knows me but I'm friendly and not crazy... well not too crazy.
