Volume 3, Issue 2

Letter from Team Digital

It’s February.  Here in the mountains of New England we still have snow on the ground, and my daughter and I go “tracking” cats and dogs as we explore.  We talk and laugh; she climbs the snow piles, picks up rocks and takes them home and the every day moments become a treasure trove of memories.

Isn’t this why we scrap?  To create art and preserve the memories of every day moments and special occasions?  In my DSU295 class I encourage students to take their journaling to the next level.  Pretend that you are not with someone as they are looking through your scrapbook, what would you want them to know about the event or person or place that you have showcased?  These are the words you should strive to put on the page.

I’ll be 38 in April (eek!) and it’s funny because I still love looking through my baby book, reading every word that my mom wrote about me.  When my nephew and nieces and daughter are 38, my hope is that they will love looking through the albums I’ve created of them and for them.  The ABC albums I made for each of them this Christmas were a big hit, and I expect to continue this tradition of photo documenting the lives of the children that I love the most.  I love that I share this goal with you at DSP, preserving the memories of who we are and also of the people we love the most and having fun along the way, making wonderful friends from around the world.

Many blessings to you,
Stacey Jewell Stahl
