I can’t believe it’s May already - this year is whipping by so fast, I’m always a few paces behind in my thinking. It’s definitely Spring here in the West, with leaves budding and flowers sprouting and beautiful colours everywhere to delight the eye. I’ve always loved pictures of flowers and have just begun to actually think about taking some good ones of my own. I have a camera now, that is actually capable of taking great photos, I just need to learn all the ins and outs of photography and our Photography Forum is an absolute font of information, hints, tips, help of all kinds and best of all - great challenges! I took this picture of our lilac tree just bursting into bud and can’t tell you how heavenly it smelled! |

May is also the month in which, in our part of the world, we honour our mothers. Every one of us had a mother, has a mother, is a mother, or knows a mother. We should all take a moment to reflect on what an enormous impact mothers have on our lives. I found this quote, which seemed appropriate to me: “Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends - but only one mother in the whole world.”~Kate Douglas Wiggin As you all know, scrapping also has an enormous impact on our lives and the lives of our families. I know I enjoy looking at the layouts I’ve done, remembering those occasions and what they meant to me; but my children and grandchildren LOVE looking at them and still remember the occasions quite well - it will mean so much more when those memories are fading and the photos and stories bring them back. So go out and snap those photos and make those layouts for everyone to enjoy! Abby DSP Moderator |
