Spotlight
Our Spotlight for the month of October is Laura aka felynn

Check out her gallery for some fabulous layouts.
DSP: How long have you been scrapping?
Member: Since July 2007
DSP: What do you like best about digital scrapbooking?
Member: I love that I can use the same photos and the same kit and come up with many different pages. Then I can use the same kit with other photos or the same photos with other kits. It's so versitile and freeing. There's just no limit to your creativity when you go digital. Plus everyone loves the results even when you're a beginner scrapping your memories is so rewarding for yourself and everyone you share your work with.
DSP: What drew you to this site?
Member: I was doing a search for my mother in law for templates she could use for paper scraping and I came across DSP and digital scrapping at the same time. So I guess google directed me and the friendly atmosphere of the forums snagged me.
DSP: Do you have a favorite challenge here at DSP?
Member: I love the designer challenges. It's so great getting bonuses which coordinate with the featured kit. I love the long challenges that go with the celebration events. Like "The challenge of Challenges" that ran recently for Christmas in July. Lots of fun all month long.
DSP: What is your most "off the wall" layout?
Member: "Misery Does Not Love Company" I'm so proud of that LO I think it's hillarious, brave, and despite the subject matter quite pretty.
DSP: Do you ever experience "scrappers block", and if so how do you overcome it?
Member: I only get scrappers block during competitions. Nerves I guess. To get over it I play with kits and make cards. Just placing elements and papers in pleasing ways without worrying about photos. Frees me up and gets me over my nerves. And I get a bunch of pretty cards.
DSP: What is your favorite thing to scrap about?
Member: Life. The everyday blah things. Getting out of bed, doing the laundry, kissing loved ones hello and good bye, making dinner, dusting. I love celebrating the little things. I haven't done dusting yet I need to do make a note of it.
DSP: If you were a scrapbook element, what would you be?
Member: oh this is tough... a frame. Frames draw attention to and showcase the subject matter and as a scrapper I think that's my job. To draw attention to my subject matter and show people how much I love it. Yeah I'm a frame :)
DSP: What part of the site do you spend the most time in, other than your gallery?
Member: Looking at other people's galleries. So much fun seeing these little windows into other's lives.
DSP: What other hobbies or activities do you enjoy other than scrapping?
Member: I am a gamer girl. I play a lot of massively multiplayer games online. We have our friends over once a week for game night. And I love to quilt.
DSP: Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
Member: I would like to thank everyone at DSP who makes it possible for me to have discovered this wonderful form of expression. The designers who make all those gorgeous kits, the moderators and administrators who keep the forums and galleries a safe and friendly place to share. The tech peeps who make everything available to people all over the world and keep it running so well. Most important I want to thank all the other members at DSP. Thank you for sharing your pages with me and for all the wonderful comments on my pages. DSP is a very secial place and I am very grateful to everyone who makes it possible for me to share and celebrate my life with the world.
Thanks for being our spotlight this month Laura! It was great to read more about you! ~Team Digital
