"The Book of Us: A Guide to Scrapbooking About Relationships" by Angie Pedersen

When I purchased "The Book of Us: A Guide to Scrapbooking About Relationships" by Angie Pedersen, I did so with the intention of getting some ideas for creating an album about myself and my boyfriend. After reading just a few pages of the book, I realized I would use it for much more than that. This idea book has tons of ideas for scrapping about any type of relationship in your life including friends, siblings, parents and children.

The book is broken down into chapters that focus on different themes such as "Our History" and "Our Perspectives." There are so many great subjects and journaling prompts, that I had to keep a notebook next to me to record feelings and ideas for my own albums. Each chapter is packed full of layout samples - even including some great digital ones. Angie describes each layout, sometimes quoting the creator and always giving further suggestions for drawing inspiration from that layout. There are also lots of journaling prompts and probing questions to get you started on your layouts. She also touches on topics such as choosing a theme for your albums, why each theme is important, memorabilia and photos to add to your pages, and the importance of documenting the special relationships in your life.

"The Book of Us" is great whether you are wanting to create an entire gift album dedicated to one person or for creating personal album with one or two layouts for each important person in your life. The inspiration that this book provides is limitless and its one that you will refer back to time and time again. Angie even provides corresponding quotations in side columns on every page, which will be very helpful in creating your own albums. The greatest thing about this book is that it combines a variety of crafting techniques from paper and digital scrapping, to altered books and other altered items, giving you ideas that can be used in a variety of ways.

Angie's book is a must-have for any crafter who wants to celebrate all the different relationships in their lives.
